What does one need in the art world these days?
Computer Skills! Not just a FB page and a website any more. There is online portfolio's required on every site out there. No wonder artists are sometime refered to as 'funky and cool'. To have that competitive edge you need to be up with the times. I am 'old school', I borrowed a type writter to do my uni reports on! Thinking forward then was doing a TYPEWRITING COURSE!
OK OK, when I was in college... i was lucky enough to have acess to an electric typewritter :-) But, things have changes a lot now. And things were changing everyday. Now is a good time to jump in and learn. You need help, go to you tube! Information really is right at the end of one's finger tips these days. The overwhelming information avaible can be very daunting and figuring out where to start can be tricky!
Take a deep breath and go at your own pace! Don't be afraid to use what ever style you want to record and document your new found information. Remember, once you learn this it will become second nature too you. So put the time in and find something to get you started.
I hope by sharing my creative process I may be able to inspire others to try. I have started with HTML coding. I did do a course many years ago, so I was relieved to learn that it was something vaguely familiar. But really at the end of the day HTML codes are very simple and very logic to work with. Obviously I have a long wy to go. You got to start somewhere and by taking many BABAY STEPS eventually you see a path forming and things start coming together.
Everything starts off looking overwhelming but with hardwork, attention to detail and a focused mind, you can set yourself free and follow your heart! Keep at it! it will come together if you follow your plan!
Now that I have the biggest part of getting mysself up and running online. Next I need to focus my attentions on my Exhibit of Art on Friday 5th September. I hope to keep you posted on this creative process but, for today... I'm learning basic HTML codes :-)
